When 7 days fits
High-frequency deploy teams (continuous deployment, 5+ deploys per day) generate enough events inside a week to make the metric stable. The signal is mid-week regression catches and same-week incident remediation.
When to switch windows
If your week routinely shows fewer than ~25 deploys, the 7-day CFR will swing on single events. Move to a 30-day window for reporting and keep the 7-day chart as a tactical guideDORA 2024 Report2024. For quarterly board cadence use 90 days.
